1. Mt. Moiwa (Sapporo)
Mt. Moiwa is located in the center of Sapporo City. It is at an elevation of 531 meters and you can see a magnificent view of the Ishikari Plain at the top of the mountains. This view was selected as one of the three best views in Japan.
Many people visit there in summer, however, visiting in winter is recommended. You can see very romantic scenery where everything was covered in snow because the air is more crisp and clear than other seasons.
You can take a ropeway and cable car from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain.
You never get tired of the view while you are moving to the top of the mountain.
2. Biei (Biei)
Winter is the most beautiful season in Biei. There is snow as far as the eye can see.
There are many breathtaking views.
“Shirogane Blue Pond” and “Shirahige Waterfall” are the popular attractions in Biei. They light up at night and are very different from the daytime, you must check them out!
Usually, there is water in the pond, however, it freezes and snow poles up in winter.
3. Jewelry Ice (Toyokoro)
What is Jewelry Ice?
— Jewelry Ice, a natural phenomenon, can only be seen from mid-January to late February.
It from the Tokachi River is washed away in the pacific ocean, and then washed up in Otsu Beach. The clear ice is like a crystal from the reflection of the sunlight on the ice, so they are called “Jewelry Ice”.
Jewelry ice can only be seen at Toyokoro, Tokachi, Hokkaido during winter seasons. You must see a beautiful natural phenomenon!
Make sure you wear something warm when you visit Hokkaido in winter. It’s freezing outside!
