Sakura river in Tokyo
The Meguro river is a popular place in Tokyo to see sakura, throughout both day and night. It is often called sakura river during the Nakameguro Sakura Matsuri (Nakameguro cherry blossom festival). This famous festival runs from late March to early April.The 800 Somei-yoshino trees lining both sides of the Meguro river stretch to 4 kilometers. It’s like a pale pink arch. Somei-yoshino have nearly pure white petals, with a hint of pink close to the stem, which is very beautiful. Also, the light up at night, from 6 to 9pm make the sakura gorgeous. You will see many couples and friends enjoying the amazing view every night during the festival, to have a good time and take pictures. There are many cafés and restaurants along the river to get a drink, relax, and enjoy the beauty of this special time of year.
